Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-24
EasyTune is a privacy-first project. We collect as little data as possible and never sell or share what we collect. This policy explains, in plain English, what happens to your data when you use easytune.app, app.easytune.app, or the EasyTune Android application.
1. Who we are
EasyTune ("we", "us") is an independent fan project. The data controller for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the project maintainer, reachable at contact@easytune.app. EasyTune is not affiliated with Microsoft or Playground Games.
2. What data we collect
On the marketing site (easytune.app) and the web app (app.easytune.app), we collect no personal data. The web app stores your saved tunes, custom cars and language preference in your browser via localStorage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly copy or share it. The Android Pro app, when released, will collect only the data strictly necessary to deliver the service (see section 6).
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, fingerprinting, or third-party analytics scripts. The only client-side storage we use is browser localStorage to remember your saved tunes and language. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings.
4. Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookie-less analytics service that does not track individuals, does not use fingerprinting, and does not collect IP addresses for profiling. Cloudflare aggregates anonymous traffic data (page views, referrers, country at city-level granularity at most) on our behalf. No personal data is processed.
5. Hosting and infrastructure
The website and web app are hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may automatically process technical metadata (IP address, request headers) to deliver the service, prevent abuse, and serve content efficiently. See Cloudflare's privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy for details.
6. EasyTune Android (Google Play)
The Android Pro app, once released, will be distributed through Google Play. Purchase, billing and refunds are handled entirely by Google — we never see your payment information. The app itself does not require an account, does not transmit your tunes to any server, and stores all data locally on your device. The only network calls the app may make are: (a) one-time license check via Google Play Billing, (b) optional update check. No analytics SDKs, no advertising IDs, no third-party trackers.
7. Legal basis (GDPR)
For EU users, our legal basis for any minimal processing is: (a) legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) for security logs and abuse prevention by Cloudflare; (b) contract performance (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) for the Pro license check via Google Play. We do not rely on consent because we do not run any non-essential tracking.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR and equivalent regimes (UK GDPR, CCPA, LGPD), you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, and to object to its processing. Because we do not hold a personal data account about you, most of these rights are satisfied by clearing your browser localStorage or uninstalling the Android app. For any other request, contact contact@easytune.app and we will respond within 30 days.
9. Data retention
We do not retain personal data on our servers. Cloudflare retains aggregated analytics for at most 6 months. Cloudflare security logs are retained for the duration set by Cloudflare (typically less than 30 days). Local data on your device is retained until you clear it.
10. Children
EasyTune is suitable for general audiences but is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. International transfers
Cloudflare operates a global network and may process technical metadata outside the EU. Cloudflare relies on Standard Contractual Clauses to ensure adequate protection of personal data transferred from the EU/EEA. Google Play transfers are governed by Google's policies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
13. Contact
Questions about this policy or your data: contact@easytune.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in France, the CNIL; in Spain, the AEPD; in Japan, the PPC).
